Emerton Disc specialize in creating DVD and/or CD-R (Windows Media, QuickTime) discs of your personal and/or corporate videos, ranging from wedding videos, christenings, home movies (parties, birthdays, family gatherings), corporate videos for promotion, training, sales and marketing, court reporting and depositions.
We accept all consumer video tape formats for transfer to DVD and/or CD-R:
VHS • VHS-C • S-VHS • S-VHS-C • Video 8 • Hi 8 • Digital 8 • mini DV
Tape is a great medium to shoot in but a poor one to store in. It is a proven fact that video tape is temporary. Stored even in the best conditions, video tape starts to fade and deteriorate in just a few short years. A DVD, on the other hand, should last 100 years if properly cared for. And the image is as good on the 100th year as it is the first time you watch it.
If you have some precious video memories started fading (picture and sound deterioration), transfer them to DVD before they deteriorate completely.
We will transfer your video(s) “as-is” to computer hard-drive, perform compiling/editing if required, prepare video for recording to DVD (data compression and DVD authoring), and record it to blank DVD-R disc.
This DVD is an exact duplication of your video tape. If you have tape that need preservation, and you don't have the time to create custom DVD, this is an ideal solution to preserve the tape "as-is". We will transfer your tape to DVD, set-up a standard menu and space your chapter marks at an even interval based on the length of your movie and preferred number of chapters (parts). Just tell us how many chapters do you want to have on your DVD, and remember maximum number of chapters is 12. Each chapter is associated with a thumbnail image from your actual video. This image is video scene taken from your video at the beginning of each chapter. You still get all the great functionality, durability and convenience of DVD, without the custom options available in our other products.
For compiling/editing requirements, please refer to Video compiling/editing section.
This is completely customized DVD. You can customize your menus (title and main), chapters, thumbnail images and titles (font type). You may set chapters at any particular spots in your video, just provide list of chapter start-points (hr:min:sec), named them, select thumbnail images (from your actual video) and design menu appearance (background color/image). Maximum number of chapters is 12, and chapters can’t be located in the first and the last two minutes of program.
For compiling/editing requirements, please refer to Video compiling/editing section.
Transfer your video to CD-R in the form of Windows Media or QuickTime movie, and you will have video ready to:
Quality is not like DVD, but it’s acceptable and very useful especially for short (up to 30 minutes) promotional and training corporate videos. This is the cheapest way to get your movies from video tape into computer data format ready for further manipulation, replication, etc.
We will transfer your video(s) “as-is” to computer hard-drive, perform compiling/editing if required, cut finished video into parts of 30 minutes long, named them Part 1, Part 2, etc., compress it for required data format (Windows Media or QuickTime), and record it to corresponding number of CD-R’s.
For compiling/editing requirements, please refer to Video compiling/editing section.
If you require compiling/editing from few tapes, even in different formats (VHS, mini DV, Hi8), it is possible, if you provide compiling/editing list, with your compiling and editing requirements details.
At the moment we can perform only basic video editing in order to patch compiled parts (segments) from different tapes, to correct video/audio mistakes noted by customer, and to give your video movies and projects professional appearance and feel. If you know that your video contain some correctable mistakes, like blank parts on tape or low sound level, etc., please provide detailed list of mistakes and desirable changes. For the editing requirements we will apply standard processing, which means, appropriate number of editing points, standard transitions (like cross dissolve, page peel), basic special effects (slow motion, still, sepia, black & white), and standard titles. Before you send tape(s) for editing and transfer to DVD, think how you would like your video material to be edited. This will help us to complete your project according to your demands and in less time.
Compiling/editing services are extra costs that should be added to the cost of product (DVD, CD) required. Prices are based on the number of compiling parts or editing points:

Not all of the DVD players will play DVD-R discs. Many of the older DVD players have problems playing certain Hollywood titles as well as DVD-R discs. Only solution for this problem is to get a new player with specifications up to date, or to try DVD-R playback in particular DVD player, before submitting any video tapes for transfer to DVD.
Most likely the disc you received from Emerton Disc will work on your player, but to avoid any unpleasant surprises we strongly recommend you to verify your DVD player(s) compatibility before placing an order, especially large quantity orders.
